MANHATTAN — Failed Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad "would have killed thousands of people" had he rigged his explosive correctly, a secret FBI test revealed, according to the New York Post.

The bureau detonated an idealized version of the bomb outside Harrisburg, PA, in order to determine what the devastation might have looked like had Shahzad, 30, not made several crucial errors when assembling it, the paper said.

"It definitely would have been bigger than [the 1995] Oklahoma City" bombing, an unidentified source told the Post. "There would have been a lot of casualties."

The Oklahoma City attack claimed 168 lives.

"People would also have been stomped to death from running away," another source added, according to the Post. "It would have been panic. The buildings would have been severely damaged."

Shahzad's bomb-rigged SUV was defused after several Times Square vendors reported the smoking vehicle to police.

Shahzad pleaded guilty last month to 10-counts of terror related charges.
