MANHATTAN — Mayor Michael Bloomberg shelled out $109.2 million on his third run for governor — more than 11 times that of his Democratic opponent, William Thompson Jr., according to the final official filing released Thursday.
The filing includes money paid by Bloomberg after the mayor’s last spending report in January. There's been close to a million dollars in expenses since then.
The mayor, who is listed as the wealthiest man in New York City and 23rd richest in the world with a fortune estimated around $18 billion, spent only his own money on the campaign.
