UPPER EAST SIDE — At the same time that Madison Avenue retailers hailed a strong first six months of 2010, high-end swimwear outlet Eres announced its departure from the street, Crain's New York reported.

Eres, which is owned by Chanel, is scaling back its retail operations across the country to focus on selling in high-end department stores like Saks Fifth Avenue, Women's Wear Daily reported.

Owners of the space currently occupied by Eres at 621 Madison Avenue between East 58th and East 59th Streets already have a potential new tenant lined up, Jeffrey Roseman, a broker for the building's owner, told Crain's.

The store, which sells upscale lingerie as well as swimwear, is reportedly slated to close by mid-September.
