MANHATTAN SUPREME COURT — Kirsten Dunst took the stand Tuesday in the retrial of a man accused of stealing her pricey handbag and other items from a SoHo Grand penthouse while she was in town filming a movie.

The "Spider-Man" starlet was asked by a defense attorney about whether she knew her personal assistant smoked marijuana. The defense contends defendant James Jimenez, and his friend, Jarrod Beinerman, had permission to be in the hotel room to sell drugs to the film crew.

"I know she smoked pot," said the 28-year-old actress of her assistant, above a prosecutor's objection.

"You didn't have to answer that," said Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Jill Konviser.

Jimenez and Beinerman were charged with grabbing Dunst’s Balenciaga hand bag, $2,000 in cash, vintage sunglasses, credit cards and other items back in 2007.

They also burglarized her assistant, as well as her “How to Lose Friends and Alienate People" co-star Simon Pegg, whose belongings went missing from an adjacent suite, prosecutors said.

Mastercard. American Express. I know I had a Bloomingdale's, a Barney’s card and some shopping cards,” Dunst said recalling the contents of her stolen Marc Jacobs wallet.

“Business cards and medical cards,” she added.

Dunst said she saw security tapes showing Jimenez leaving the hotel on an elevator carrying a Nobu take-out bag that presumably contained their belongings.

This is the second time Jimenez has been on trial for the alleged theft. The first trial ended in a hung jury. Beinerman is serving a four-year sentence after pleading guilty in 2008.

Pegg is expected to testify Wednesday.
