MANHATTAN — Self-confessed Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad stares blankly into the camera in a mug shot released Wednesday, a far cry from the designer sunglasses and grin he sported in earlier images.

The naturalized Pakistani immigrant wore a similar gray sweatshirt and goatee during his arraignment yesterday on terrorism charges in Manhattan federal court.

His first court appearance came 15 days after his arrest at JFK Airport.

Shahzad is reportedly being housed as a federal inmate in the Metropolitan Correctional Center at 150 Park Row in Lower Manhattan. The Justice Department would not confirm his location.

But they said previously that Shahzad had been cooperating with investigators, feeding them information that led to multiple arrests internationally and news of additional intended targets.

Shahzad reportedly told investigators if the Times Square bomb plot had been successful, he would have hit Grand Central Terminal, Rockefeller Plaza and the World Financial Center, as well as a military defense supplier in Connecticut.

The Daily News reported that he was also eyeing targets in Boston and Washington.
