Thousands of New Yorkers will get down and dirty this weekend with the 15th annual "It’s My Park Day," a New York City Department of Parks and Recreation event where residents pitch in to help clean up neighborhood parks.

This year marks the Partnerships for Parks' 15th anniversary, in which community groups who have provided support over the years will be honored.

To celebrate, parks in northern Manhattan will host beautification projects over the course of the coming week. Most events are held on Saturday, May 15, with the exception of the West 181st Street Community Garden and Luther Gulick Playground on Sunday, May 16, and Fort Tryon Park on May 23, Sunday.

May 15 events include:

Convent Garden, Abyssinian Tot Lot, Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd, Malls, Collyer Brothers Park, Frederick Johnson Park, Jackie Robinson Park, West 132nd Street, Marcus Garvey Park, Highbridge Park, Inwood Hill Park, Edgecombe Avenue, Riverside Oval, Broadway Malls, St. Nicholas Park, Frederick Johnson Park, Dr. Ronald E. McNair Playground, Marcus Garvey Park, Fort Washington Park, J. Hood Wright Park, Juan Pablo Duarte Greenstreet, Sherman Creek Park, Dyckman Farmhouse Museum, Fred Samuel Playground, Highbridge Park, Isham Park, and Academy Street.

Volunteers are asked to call or email contacts listed on each event posting. Supplies will be available for volunteers.
