MIDTOWN WEST — A nurse who refused to dance with a man at a Midtown bar was brutally beaten in a bathroom stall after the man kicked in the door, police said.

The 29-year-old pediatric nurse was found unconscious by her friends, sprawled on the bathroom floor at Social, on W. 48th Street and Eighth Avenue, about 2:30 a.m., Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said.

She was beaten so badly her eye socket was broken and required surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Her blood was all over the stall walls, Kelly said.

There was no immediate evidence of a rape, a police source said.

Police are questioning a suspect in the brutal beating of a 29-year-old woman in the bathroom stall of Social Bar and Grill in Midtown West early Thursday morning.
