MANHATTAN — Four men fleeing a Washington Heights shooting early Wednesday reportedly crashed into an ambulance and then opened fire again before hailing a cab.

The victim, a 23-year-old man, was shot on Audubon Avenue, near 175th Street, just before 3 a.m., police said. His assailants jumped into a Honda and, while speeding away on icy streets, slammed into an ambulance from Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. An EMS worker suffered a knee injury in the crash, according to NY1.

WABC-TV reported that the men jumped out of the car and opened fire again, but didn’t hit anyone. Then they climbed into a livery cab and drove away.

The shooting victim was taken to Harlem Hospital with injuries to his left hand, and was in stable condition, police said.
