Upper East Side Bank Robbery Suspect Eludes Police

UPPER EAST SIDE — Police are looking for a man accused of robbing an Upper East Side HSBC bank on Jan. 13.

Thomas Smith allegedly approached a teller at the bank on 1165 Third Avenue and passed a note demanding cash.

The teller turned over an undiclosed amount of cash and Smith ran away, according to the NYPD.

Smith was last seen wearing a dark-colored coat and gray winter hat, police said. He is described as 39-years-old, 5-foot-6 inches tall and 140 pounds.
