MANHATTAN — Police have questioned two people but have not announced any arrests in the stabbing death of a Washington Heights man outside a nightclub over the weekend.
The 23-year-old victim, Ariel Almanzar, was attacked early Sunday morning near the corner of 176th Street and Audubon Avenue, police said.
Almanzar was taken to Harlem Hospital with stab wounds in his chest, and was pronounced dead.
The 4:30 a.m. attack was the result of a fight that had started inside a nearby nightclub, the Vibe Lounge, the Daily News reported.
A friend told the paper that he watched Almanzar, a freshman at Medgar Evers College, collapse on the sidewalk, bleeding from the neck.
Police took two people into custody immediately after the attack. But police said Monday morning that no one had been arrested yet.
