MANHATTAN — Forbes was in an "Empire State of Mind" when they named New York Jay-Z and Beyoncé as the highest earning power couple of the year.

The stars raked in a combined $122 million from June 2008 to June 2009, according to Forbes.

Their success was due in large part to hits like "Single Ladies" and "The Blueprint 3" album, but the couple also padded their wallets with clothing lines, endorsements and investments, including "Carol's Daughter," a cosmetics line carried at the company's flagship store in Harlem.

Beyoncé out-earned her beau by bringing in $87 million – more than twice what Jay-Z collected.

The Top-Earning Couples list included athletes, TV and movie stars and musicians.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z beat out Harrison Ford and his girlfriend, Calista Flockhart. That pair earned $69 million between 2008 and 2009.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were third earning $55 million; Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, took home $48 million.

Rounding out the top five were West Coast uber-divas David and Victoria Beckham, who took home $46 million.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé also topped the list last year, earning $162 million.
