Downtown Docket: After 20 Years in Prison, Man Convicted of Manhattan Murder Released, Believed Innocent

MANHATTAN — A man convicted of murdering a Manhattan prostitute more than 20 years ago, was released from prison by his parole board after an upstate newspaper's examinated his case. [recordonline.com]

A Manhattan judge said he would likely toss the conviction of a Bronx man who served prison time for rape. His accuser has since recanted her story and DNA test results were exculpatory. [nytimes.com]

John Gotti Jr.'s wife, Kim, said the government has nearly ruined her family financially by choosing to prosecute her husband four times in the past five years. The federal jury in his case is expected to continue deliberations today. [nypost.com]
