Midtown Bar Offers Vodka-Infused Turkey

MANHATTAN — A Midtown bar is serving turkey with an unusual stuffing — vodka.

At O'Casey's Tavern on E. 41st Street, owner Paul Hurley is injecting 20-pound birds with 100 proof vodka. It's an idea he says his mother in Ireland came up with 15 years ago, according to the New York Post.

"It's a turkey you can eat and drink at the same time, but you'll need a cab home," Hurley told the Post. "There's an ounce of vodka in every bite."

Much of the injected vodka will evaporate out of the turkeys while they're in the oven. So O'Casey's chef, Paul Loftus, will douse the bird with vodka-infused gravy, which will be served with a straw, according to the Post

The $29.95 meal includes turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes and a cab ride to anywhere in Manhattan, the Post reported. So far, more than 125 people have signed up to sample the feast. People can also pick up a whole bird $69.
