MANHATTAN — Police are investigating a string of burglaries at popular restaurants in Inwood and Washington Heights last weekend.

In one case, thieves cut a hole in the ceiling of La Nueva Espana on St. Nicholas Avenue and made off with a safe containing $10,000, WABC-TV reported.

In another, according to WPIX, suspects were caught on videotape as they got away with a safe and several cases of alcohol at Mamajuana Cafe on Dyckman Street.

The owners of the restaurants were not available for comment this morning.

A police spokesman said there have been no arrests.
