A slew of MTA repairs and construction projects made 25 percent of weekday trains and half of weekend trains late for pick up and more likely to skip one or more stops per route, a NYC Transit report said Monday.

A stricter reporting system adopted by NYC Transit no longer gives the MTA passes for delays due to service changes and major maintenance work, reported the New York Daily News.

The new reporting guidelines attempt to portray the riders' perspective when it comes to service, officials said.

The 1 line specifically drew the attention of Howard Roberts, NYC Transit president.

"I actually have a couple of horror stories here with respect to the different lines that have particularly low absolute on-time performance," Roberts said.

In August, a partial ceiling collapse at the 181st St. station increased the 1 line delays to 26 and 28 percent, according to the Daily News. The 1, Q and G lines had the lowest on-time percentage of trains in the city.

The worst weekend lines were the E, F and R lines, which were late more than 90 percent of the time, reported the New York Post.

News of the high percentage of delays came as officials learned that reports of passenger injuries also shot up during the study period. Officials attributed the spike to the city's growing use of hybrid vehicles which accelerate quickly and pitch riders.

The hybrid buses have since been repaired, bus managers said.
