MANHATTAN — Michael Jackson's posthumous film “This Is It" gives fans the closure they need, the New York Daily News said in a review. [nydailynews.com]

But some of Jackson’s most diehard fans worldwide have banned together to protest the movie. Starting an Web-based campaign dubbed “This Is Not It,” a group of fans maintains that the film exploited Jackson when he was in poor health. [examiner.com]

“The Starry Messenger” had its first preview performance Off Broadway on Monday night, but it didn’t go as smoothly as hoped. One audience member said actor Matthew Broderick, one of the play’s stars, needed his lines about 10 times. [nytimes.com]

Sarah Palin hauled in $1.25 million on the book deal for her forthcoming memoir “Going Rogue: An American Life”, according to financial disclosure forms. HarperCollins plans to print 1.5 million copies of the 400-page book, which is out Nov. 17. [politico.com]

Sherri Saum, of HBO's "In Treatment," will be adding a new role to her repertoire. She has been cast in "Gossip Girl" to play a business executive-turned-trophy wife, the New York Post reports. [nypost.com]

A former “Late Night With David Letterman” employee said she quit her job, in part, because of sexual favoritism. Writer Nell Scovell said in Vanity Fair that she walked away from her “dream job” because of the poor work environment. [vanityfair.com]
