PATH Train Accident at Herald Square, 7 People Reportedly Injured

An accident on a PATH train at Herald Square has injured several people this morning, authorities report.

Emergency personnel were on the scene at the station, located at West 33rd Street and Sixth Avenue, after the train, which had arrived from Hoboken, hit a bumper at the end of the track about 8:55 a.m., the Port Authority said.

Port Authority spokeswoman Jen Friedberg said seven people received minor injuries when the train hit a bumper block at the end of the track. Two of the injured were crew.

PATH service was still running on other tracks.

The Office of Emergency Management reported that the injuries were minor.
