The Burj Dubai is 2,684 feet tall and has been under construction near Dubai's main business district since September 2004. Also known as the "Dubai Tower", it's expected to be completed by the end of 2009.
The Burj Dubai dwarfs all the structures in the New York skyline, which was once home to the world's tallest building − The Empire State Building in 1931.
