The promotion includes games in April and June and is sponsored by St. Xavier University.

Firefighters were called to the scene Monday morning. 

Ald. Matt O'Shea (19th) and Ald. Anthony Napolitano (41st) will join the two teams in Morgan Park.

Maura Connors, 23, is a graduate of St. Barnabas Elementary School and St. Ignatius College Prep.

"Sadly, I've had to ring too many doorbells in the middle of the night," the Rev. Thomas Mulcrone said.

Officials admitted officers were often unsure when to let paramedics or medical professionals take over.

The effort seeks $5,000 for the Griffin family, which saw their home consumed by fire Friday afternoon.

Traffic was blocked on Western Avenue in both directions as firefighters battled the blaze.

The small fire was contained to a second-floor bedroom, according to firefighters on the scene.

The charity will visit the homes of two children and a Chicago firefighter — all battling cancer.

Daniel Capuano, 42, of Mount Greenwood died Dec. 14, 2015, in a smoky warehouse fire in South Chicago.

In all, the city will have paid $8.1 million to 59 prospective female firefighters, officials said.

Neighbors on the scene said it may have stemmed from a welding accident, but officials couldn't confirm.

Some of those injured were stabbed and some were battered, Chicago Fire officials said.
