The fifth annual fundraiser for the Special Olympics is Sept. 17 at Midway Airport.

The new program is estimated to increase annual sales tax revenue for the city by $10 million.

One of the grants totals almost $2 million and will be used to rehabilitate more than a mile of runway.

The funding follows changes in flight paths that have resulted in an increase in noise complaints.

At 96-feet long with a wingspan of 95 feet, the private jet can carry up to 19 passengers.
