CHICAGO — If the delectable dishes at the city's four Francesca's restaurants aren't enough to tempt you away from your diet, perhaps Wednesday's discount will.

For World Pasta Day, the restaurants will serve $12 pasta dishes all day in Little Italy, Lakeview, Edgewater and Gold Coast.

Dishes that are typically $18-$24 will be marked down for the occasion, offering a chance to splurge on taste while still not breaking the bank.

Some of the favorite pasta dishes at Francesca's include the gnocchi alla bavosa, made with a tomato basil sauce, melted mozzarella and parmesan cheese. The rigatoni is sauteed with sausage, roasted cherry tomatoes, white beans and pine nuts, while linguine dishes feature clams or sea scallops.

The restaurants also serve appetizers like fried calamari, burrata and sausage and saffron risotto; pizza, seafood entrees and other dishes like pan-roasted veal with eggplant.

Founded in 1992, Francesca's Restaurants Group has 23 locations in the Chicago area and also owns Davanti Enoteca and Glazed and Infused.

The city's Francesca's locations are at 1400 W. Taylor St. in Little Italy, 3311 N. Clark St. in Lakeview, 1039 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. in Edgewater and 200 E. Chestnut St. in Gold Coast.
