LOGAN SQUARE — A group of teens armed with BB guns are robbing and beating people in Logan Square — and sometimes shooting victims even after they've surrendered their belongings, police said.

Police sent out a warning to residents late Tuesday after three similar incidents Sept. 26-27. The robbers were described as a group of two or four teen boys wearing hoodies and carrying a BB gun.

The most recent incident happened Sept. 27 about 9 p.m. in the 1900 block of North St. Louis Avenue.

Police said a group of four teenage boys went up to a man and a woman walking down the street and demanded their belongings. The teens took the belongings before threatening to shoot the woman.

A few minutes earlier, around 8:45 p.m., a group of four teenage boys went up to a man in the 1900 block of North Drake Avenue and demanded his belongings.

The teens pushed the man to the ground and beat him. One of the teens then shot the man in the head with a BB gun and ran off without any of his belongings,  police said.

A day earlier, around 8:40 p.m. in the 1300 block of North Central Park Avenue, two teens on bikes went up to a woman on the street and demanded her phone. After she gave it up, one of the teens shot her in the ribs with a BB gun.
