ROGERS PARK — Two new restaurants and a tea shop are headed for the ground floor of the Hampton Inn hotel at Loyola University.

The shops include an Argo Tea and Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, according to the university's student newspaper, the Loyola Phoenix.

While Argo Tea locations are prevalent throughout the city, Raising Cane's, a national chain, is so far only available in a few surrounding suburbs. It is a fast food restaurant specializing in chicken fingers.

Loyola did not provide additional information.

Plans for the ground-floor also include a a fine-dining restaurant with a sports bar and outdoor café called Onward, owned by developer and Loyola alum Mike Olszewski.

Of the 10,000-square-feet retail space that is available, about half of it will go toward Olszewski's vision, city records show.

On Aug. 1, Olszewski was given a permit to perform about a half-million dollars worth of work geared toward transforming a 5,100-square-foot portion of the ground floor into a two-fold concept under the Onward name.

The sports and café area will be separated from the general dining room, Olszewski said, which he hopes will capture a wide net of patrons from everywhere between Lakeview to up the North Shore.

It also gives families visiting Loyola students another place to not only catch up on sporting events, but offers a nice sit down meal as well.

"It's going to be very elegant, very warm," Olszewski said. "You're going to feel very special when you walk in."

Onward is currently slated to open in March.
