RAVENSWOOD — The weekend forecast is calling for heat, humidity and booze, with three North Side breweries celebrating their anniversaries in sudsy style.
Old Irving Brewing, 4419 W. Montrose Ave., is hosting Hoptoberversary, a three-day bash Friday through Sunday in honor of its first birthday.
The festivities will include special beer tappings and tastings, giveaways, live music and German food specials (in addition to the brewpub's regular menu). Click here for the full schedule. There's no cover charge for the event.
For the second year, Begyle Brewing and Dovetail Brewery are teaming up for Oktoberfestiversary, Saturday and Sunday at 1800 W. Belle Plaine Ave.
Enjoy special beer releases, food trucks, live music and even treats for dogs made from the breweries' spent grain. Hours are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.
The suggested donation for the event is $5, with proceeds benefiting the Chicago Mosaic School.
