LINCOLN PARK — Coldwell Banker is busy filling out its new digs at 1910 N. Clybourn Ave.

The real-estate giant announced Friday it had acquired City Point Realty in Old Town and that 34 agents from that firm would be joining its new Lincoln Park flagship office. In addition, former City Point owners Dan Merrion, Brian Merrion and Libby Carlson will affiliate with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage as brokers.

Fran Broude, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, called City Point "a well-respected and established real-estate institution," adding that the acquisition would "further bolster our roster of talented agents and strengthen our local city expertise to provide an even higher level of service to our clients."

Merrion called Coldwell Banker "a company that truly shares our forward-thinking mindset and commitment to innovation."

City Point agents will move over from its former Old Town office at 1275 N. Clybourn.

"This affiliation will enable the agents to gain a competitive edge in this market and continue to provide the superior customer service their clients have come to know and expect," Carlson said.

It's the fourth major acquisition by Coldwell Banker since July. The firm previously added Century 21 McMullen from the Northwest Side, Chicagoland Realty Services from the West Loop and Groebe Real Estate from suburban Palos Heights.
