OLD TOWN TRIANGLE — The Kennison, the newly remodeled restaurant on the ground floor of the Hotel Lincoln, has added brunch service.

The Kennison, 1800 N. Lincoln Ave., opened two months ago, replacing Perennial Virant. It was intended to be "more neighborhoody" and inviting, co-owner Ryan See said.

Now it seeks to be welcoming on weekends as well with brunch served from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, followed by dinner service from 5-11 p.m. Saturday and 5-10 p.m. Sunday.

The new brunch menu includes an avocado toast with whipped chevre, cucumber and sunflower for $11, a BLT Benedict with poached egg, pork belly, choron and mesclun greens for $15, bagel & lox for $16, blue crab fritters for $15 and the Kennison burger for $15.

It also includes an array of biscuits, buns and coffee cakes, all $5.

The Kennison points out the brunch can serve as a launching pad for shopping the Green City Market across the street in Lincoln Park on Saturdays while the weather holds, or as a reward if you want to shop fresh first and work up a hunger.
