UPTOWN — Argyle Street has a new option for those trying to be a bit more "health conscious."

New Orleans Seafood will officially open at 1046 1/2 W. Argyle St. Friday.

"People want something new and people want something healthy. They're choosing to eat seafood over meat," said Owner Son Tran. "The area is up and coming and they don't have an alternative form of food."

It'll be taking over the short-lived Cafe Fiat.

While it has been serving customers for a week, New Orleans Seafood will celebrate its grand opening by offering 20-percent of all orders. It will also offer a free pound of crawfish for every ten pounds of crawfish ordered for to-go orders, Tran said.

The restaurant, which has seating for about 50, will sell crawfish, blue crabs, dungeness crab, lobster, shrimps, baby clams, mussels, king crab legs, snow crab legs and headless shrimp, according to the menu.

The seafood will be sold at the market price per pound and includes garlic, lemon-pepper and new orleans sauces, according to the menu.

The restaurant is BYOB.
