Attempted Bank Robber Caught At Albany Bank At Western And Montrose: FBI

LINCOLN SQUARE — A man is in custody following an attempted robbery Monday of the Albany Bank at Western and Montrose avenues, according to the FBI.

The would-be thief wore a black hooded sweatshirt with a distinctive design on it and wore a nylon stocking over his face, officials said.

No weapon was used during the attempt, according to the FBI report.

To date, there have been 90 bank robberies in the Chicago area.
