Pilsen Shooting Kills Michael Peterman, Who'd Invited Attacker To His Home

CHICAGO — A 28-year-old man was shot and killed in Pilsen on Tuesday night, police said.

That night, the man invited someone he knew to his home in the 1600 block of West 18th Place, police said. At 10:50 p.m., the guest took out a gun, shot the man and ran away.

The man was hit in his abdomen and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The man was identified as Michael Peterman, and he was pronounced dead at 10:50 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. Peterman's home address was unknown, the Medical Examiner's Office said, though police said the man had been shot in his home.

An autopsy showed the man died from a gunshot wound in his torso in a homicide.

Police did not immediately have information on what led up to the shooting.

No one was in custody.
