DEPAUL — A driver allegedly tried to lure a 13-year-old girl into a car on the 1300 block of West Fullerton Avenue early Wednesday evening, Chicago Police said.

At about 7 p.m. Wednesday, an unknown man driving a brown or gold two-door sedan tried to lure the girl into his car as she walked east on Fullerton near DePaul University, according to a police crime alert.

The victim ignored the offender's request and fled the scene, eventually contacting police, according to the report.

Police identified the suspect as a 22-30-year-old Hispanic man with short, black, curly hair, closely cropped on the sides and with sideburns and a short beard or goatee. The suspect is described as between 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-1 with brown eyes, a muscular build and tattoos on his right shoulder, police said.

The man was reportedly driving a late-model car.

Neighbors should call 911 to report any suspicious activity, police said.
