Derwin Moore And Maurice Willis Killed In Roseland Shooting; 2 Others Hurt

CHICAGO — Two men were shot to death and two more were wounded in Roseland early Wednesday, police said.

At 1:17 a.m., the victims were standing in front of a home in the 11000 block of South Eberhart Avenue when several people in a black SUV fired shots at them, police said.

A man was hit in his back and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Another man was hit in his chest and was also pronounced dead at the scene.

One man was identified as Derwin Moore, 35, of the 10900 block of South Eberhart Avenue, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. Moore was pronounced dead at 4:20 a.m. The other man, Maurice Anthony Willis, 33, of the 400 block of East 118th Place, was pronounced dead at 4:25 a.m.

A third man, 29, was hit in his right wrist and was taken to Roseland Community Hospital. A 37-year-old man was hit in his right arm and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center. Their conditions were not available but they were listed as "stable," police said.

No one was in custody.
