Arteco Rhodes, 24, Killed In Humboldt Park Shooting

CHICAGO — Shootings in Humboldt Park killed one man and wounded two others Wednesday, police said.

• At 4:28 p.m., a 24-year-old man was in the 3200 block of West Haddon Avenue when he was shot in his chest, police said. The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead.

The man was identified as Arteco Rhodes, of an unknown home address, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. Rhodes was pronounced dead at 5:01 p.m. and an autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.

No further information was immediately available.

• At 2:28 p.m., a 35-year-old man was walking in the 4000 block of West Division Street when someone walking outside fired shots at him, police said.

The man was hit in his chest, hip and leg and ran across the street, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.

During the shooting, a 23-year-old man was driving by and a bullet hit his car window, police said. The broken glass cut the driver's head and arms, and the man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
