HYDE PARK — Bakery Vanille Patisserie is planning to open a fourth location in Harper Court in August.

Owner Sophie Evanoff said Monday she’s been looking for a place in the neighborhood for some time and finally found a location at 5229 S. Harper Court.

“I’ve had my eye on Hyde Park for several years, I was just waiting for the right opportunity,” Evanoff said.

She said the 900-square-foot bakery will offer the same specialized French pastries and baked goods offered at the other locations in Lakeview and the French Market in the Ogilvie Metra station. It will eventually expand to offer the tea service the Lincoln Park location offers.

“If people need a treat, we’ll be there for them,” Evanoff said.

She said she’s also planning to have a private room for special tastings and other events.

Evanoff said she’s planning to try some expanded options at the Hyde Park location.

“We’re definitely going to expand our breakfast menu,” Evanoff said.

She said she’s excited to open in the neighborhood.

“I love the people there, everyone is so friendly it feels like family and so homey,” Evanoff said.

The new location is also expected to be part of the the bakery’s expanded catering business.
