Fredrick Vasquez, 29, Killed In Humboldt Park Shooting

CHICAGO — A 29-year-old man was shot to death in Humboldt Park early Sunday, police said.

At 1:28 a.m., the man was standing on the sidewalk in the 1000 block of North Monticello Avenue when someone in a gray car fired shots at him, police said.

The man was hit in his chest and taken to Norwegian American Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The man was identified as Fredrick Vasquez, of the 3700 block of West Wrightwood, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. Vasquez was pronounced dead at 2:04 a.m.

The man was a documented gang member, a police source said.

No one was in custody.
