West Loop Farmers Market Opens For Season Saturday At Bartelme Park

WEST LOOP —The West Loop's farmers market opens for the season Saturday with a live chef demo and other fun.

Green City Market West Loop opens its third season Saturday at Mary Bartelme Park, 115 S. Sangamon St. The market will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through October.

In addition to vendors selling produce and other goods at the market, opening day will include activities, live music and a chef demo, including:

• 8-9 a.m.: yoga class with Brooklyn Boulders

• 8 a.m.-noon: Club Sprouts with Kids Table 

• 10:30 a.m.: chef demo featuring Executive Chef Chris Gawronski of The Gage and Acanto 

Green City Market West Loop vendors include:

• 1871 Dairy

• Abby's Crepes

• Bennison's Bakery

• Bushel and Peck's

• Ellis Farms

• Finn's Ranch

• Nichols Farm and Orchard

• River Valley Ranch

• Soul Salsa

• The Flower Garden

• Wholesome Harvest

The West Loop farmers market moved to Mary Bartelme Park last year. It was previously staged in a lot at 211 S. Peoria St. in 2016 and at the corner of Fulton and Halsted streets in 2015. 

In addition to the West Loop farmers market, Green City Market has operated in Lincoln Park for 17 years.
