Near West Side Shootings Wound 3 People, Including 14-Year-Old Boy

CHICAGO — Shootings in the Near West Side have wounded three people, including two teens, since Wednesday, police said.

• At 1:15 a.m. Thursday, a 17-year-old and a 14-year-old boy were driving in the 2400 block of South Trumbull Avenue when a car pulled alongside them and someone in the car fired shots at the teens, police said.

The 17-year-old was hit multiple times in his back and the 14-year-old boy was hit in his foot. They were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where their conditions were not available but they were listed as "stable," police said.

The teens were documented gang members, a police source said.

• At 10 p.m. Wednesday, a 27-year-old man was walking down the street in the 2100 block of West 21st Street when someone came up to him and fired shots, police said.

The man was hit twice in his chest and twice in his left arm. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not available but police said he was listed as "stable."

The attacker ran away after the shooting, police said.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
