Chicago Shootings Since Saturday Kill 2, Wound 22

CHICAGO — Twenty-four people were shot — two fatally — in incidents across the city since Saturday morning.

A man was shot dead on a Gage Park sidewalk early Sunday morning.

One man was killed and two other people were injured in a Sunday morning shooting in Austin.

In non-fatal shootings:

• Three men were shot during a fight on a Jefferson Park sidewalk early Sunday morning.

• In East Garfield Park, a 37-year-old driving a car was shot while in the 300 block of South Sacramento Avenue at 3:45 a.m. Sunday. After someone in a white car shot him, he was taken to Loyola University Medical Center with a gunshot wound in his knee.

• In Humboldt Park, a 19-year-old man was shot while walking in the 3700 block of West Division Street at 3:30 a.m. He was approached by a gunman on foot. The victim took himself to Rush University Medical Center with wounded in his right thigh and left foot.

• In West Garfield Park, a 25-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk when he was shot in his left leg. The incident occurred in the 4500 block of West Maypole Avenue at 2:59 a.m. The victim was taken to Loretto Hospital.

• On an Austin sidewalk, a 35-year-old man was shot in his abdomen and left shoulder by someone in a black SUV. The incident occurred in the 4800 block of West Gladys Avenue. The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. 

• On another Austin sidewalk, a 36-year-old man was shot in his left foot by someone in a white SUV. The victim was taken to Loretto Hospital after the incident in the 5400 block of West Monroe Street at 2:29 a.m.

• Three men were shot in the 100 block of North Parkside Avenue at 10:40 p.m. Saturday, police said. 

Shots were fired from a silver sedan, leaving a 20-year-old man shot in his left buttock and a 21-year-old man shot in his right thigh and buttocks. Both were taken to Loyola in serious condition. 

An 18-year-old who was sitting in a parked car nearby was also shot in his buttocks and took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital. All three are documented gang members, police said. 

• In Garfield Ridge, a 28-year-old riding in a car was shot by someone in another car in the 4600 block of South Cicero Avenue at 8:55 p.m. The victim was shot in his arm and taken to an area hospital.

• A 9-year-old boy was shot while riding in a vehicle in Chicago Lawn Saturday night, possibly during a fight between drivers.

• An 18-year-old woman was shot while riding in a vehicle in Park Manor. After being grazed in her thigh and stomach she was taken to University of Chicago Hospitals in good condition.

The incident occurred in the 7000 block of South King Drive at 7:04 p.m.

• A 32-year-old man was shot in his thigh during a robbery in Washington Heights. The incident occurred in the 1300 block of West 97th Place at 6:05 p.m. The man was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital before being transferred to Stroger Hospital.

• In West Pullman, two 19-year-old men were shot while in the 300 block of East 118th Street at 5:51 p.m.

One man was shot in his stomach and right arm while the other was shot in his groin. Both were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition.

• Near the Illinois Medical District, a 22-year-old man was shot in his chest while in the 700 block of South Western Avenue at 1:39 p.m. In that incident, two men got out of a car and fired at him.

The victim was taken to Stroger in critical condition.

• In Austin, a man was shot in his arm during a robbery in the 4900 block of West Washington Boulevard at 12:15 p.m. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.

• In East Garfield Park, a 29-year-old woman was shot twice in her lower back in a domestic situation in the 3100 block of West Monroe Street at 9:38 a.m

She got in an argument with someone in the rear of a home when she was shot.

The suspect fled in a car.

As of Sunday morning, no one is in custody for these incidents.
