West Fest's 2017 Music Lineup: DJ Miles Maeda, ESG, Local H

WEST TOWN — Headed into its 13th year, the popular dog-friendly and kid-friendly West Fest has announced its big acts and activities.

Set for July 7-9, West Fest's annual street party — which puts an emphasis on local talent and indie vendors — will take place along the 1800 to 2000 blocks of Chicago Avenue from Wood Street on the east to Damen Avenue on the west.

Admission to West Fest is free, though a $5 donation is requested to offset the costs of the event and to benefit producer West Town Chamber of Commerce and local public schools Talcott Fine Arts and Museum Academy and Mitchell Elementary School.

The Kid Fest (Wolcott and Chicago)

The kids area will offer train rides, bouncy houses, bean bag toss, ring toss, balloon darts, football toss, bottle toss, photo booth, an obstacle course and a family-friendly music lineup. Proceeds raised by the Kid Fest will benefit co-organizer Talcott Museum and Fine Arts Academy.

The Pet Fest

Organized by local animal rescue nonprofit groups and pet-related vendors, well-behaved leashed dogs can enjoy a dog wash fundraiser, obstacle course, pet related demonstrations and more. Pooches can also express their "inner animal creativity with paw painting, bandana tie-dying and basic training from local dog trainers," organizers said. All proceeds benefit Alive Rescue and One Tail at a Time, and there will be goodie bags for those humans whom donate or buy pet stuff.
