CHICAGO — Two teens, 17 and 15, were shot and wounded near the border of Logan Square and Bucktown on Monday night, police said.

At 7:08 p.m., officers responding to a call of person shot found the two teens inside a home in the 2400 block of West Moffat Street, police said.

The 17-year-old was hit in his neck and taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said. The 15-year-old was hit in his hand and taken to St. Mary Hospital in good condition.

A 26-year-old accountant, who declined to be named, has rented an apartment on the 2400 block of West Moffat Street for almost two years.

He said he did not hear any gunshots Monday, but happened to look out his window around 7:30 p.m. and saw about eight police cars, two ambulances and a fire truck in front of the home where the incident took place.

"This is the most police action I've ever seen" here, he said. "And I feel very safe on the block, but we will see if that changes."

The 15-year-old was detained in connection to the shooting but later released without being charged, police said.

Police originally said the victims were 18 and 16 years old.
