BEVERLY — The 95th Street Farmers Market will open for the season from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday on the southeast corner of 95th Street and Longwood Drive in Beverly.

The 2017 farmers market will operate rain or shine at 1835 W. 95th St. and will run through Oct. 29. Entertainment at the market is provided each week from 10 a.m.-noon thanks to a sponsorship from Beverly Bank.

For the first day of the farmer's market, Erin Yanz of Erin's Farm will bring several animals to interact with those in the children's tent, and local musician Joel Barr will entertain the crowd.

Face painting in the children’s tent is also available every other week from 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. beginning May 14. Other planned children's events include crafts and a visit from Southpaw — the mascot for the Chicago White Sox.

Returning vendors include Urban Canopy, C&D Farms, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Stamper Cheese, Breadman Baking Co., Not Just Cookies, Down to Earth Beverly, Madsen Farms, Blankenship Farm, Twin Garden Farms, Noffke Farms, Gotta B Crepes, Sweet Freaks, Sunflower, The Eating Well and taco cart vendor Pollo Locuas.
