WEST TOWN — The Hideout will never be confused for Studio 54, but it will play host to a disco-era revival Saturday.

Donnell Pitman, a Chicago star from the disco era who's been revived recently on reissue labels, returns to play the Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave., after being teamed with the contemporary band Wings of Sunshine.

The Chicago-based Numero Group unearthed both sides of a lost Pitman single, "Burning Up" and "Taste of Honey," in 2015, and Red Greg featured Pitman's "Love Explosion" on Joey Negro's "Under the Influence" vinyl compilation series.

Producer Kumar McMcMillan heard it just as his disco group Wings of Sunshine was looking for a new singer, and when they all got together it went well enough to produce a new single on Star Creature Records, "Do You Wanna" backed with "Need Your Love," and they'll debut it Saturday.

Locally based Star Creature Universal Vibrations Records is organizing the show, which includes the Mexico City dance duo Shiro Schwarz and Seattle's Proh Mic. Star Creature impresario Tim Zawada appears with the Boogie Munsters.

The show starts at 9 p.m., and tickets are $10. You must be 21 or older to attend.
