Boy, 11, Seriously Wounded And Man Killed In West Pullman Shooting: Police

CHICAGO — An 11-year-old boy was seriously wounded Keshawn Slaughter, 26, killed in a shooting in West Pullman on Monday, officials said.

At 5:21 p.m., the two were in the 11600 block of South Bishop Street when a white car pulled up and someone fired shots at the man and child, police said.

The man was hit in the back of his head and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

Slaughter, of the 100 block of East 68th Street, was pronounced dead at 8:25 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.

The boy was hit in his shoulder and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition, police said.

The boy was at least the 10th child age 13 or younger to be shot in Chicago this year, according to a DNAinfo analysis.

No one was in custody.
