MOUNT GREENWOOD — Active members of the Chicago Fire and Chicago Police departments can get two free tickets to 13 select Chicago White Sox games in April and June.

St. Xavier University has partnered with the Sox on the promotion. The school at 3700 W. 103rd St. in Mount Greenwood also works with the Police Department to offer accelerated undergraduate completion programs and graduate degree programs.

“We wanted to show our appreciation to our brave Chicago Police officers and firefighters with this small token,” said Kathleen Alaimo, the university's provost.

Firefighters and police officers interested in the promotion are required to show identification, such as a badge, to claim the tickets. The tickets will be available at the box office at Guaranteed Rate Field beginning March 13.

The box office is open on non-game days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The deadline to claim tickets through the promotion is 5 p.m. May 19.

For a full list of the games eligible for the promotion, visit the White Sox website.

This is the sixth consecutive year that the team has provided tickets to police officers and the fifth season that the offer has been extended to Chicago firefighters. Since the program’s inception, it has provided more than 81,000 game tickets, including 15,000 last year.
