UPTOWN — Ald. James Cappleman (46th) revealed updated renderings Wednesday of CRG Real Estate Solutions' proposed apartment building at Sheridan Road and Wilson Avenue.

In January, developers pitched an eight-story, 147-unit apartment building for the vacant property at 975 W. Wilson Ave, but the project is now an 11-story building, according to the new proposal.

The changes to the project were made based on feedback from City's Department of Planning and Development and Uptown United, according to the alderman's newsletter.

The new proposal includes a 5,500-square-foot retail area and 38 parking spaces. Because it is close to public transportation and considered a transit-oriented development by the city, it would be allowed to offer far fewer parking spaces than normally required of a building with so many units.

It also includes a second floor roof with green space, more green space on the 12th floor, and room for an unnamed amenity and a rooftop deck, according to the renderings.

In September 2015, a Cedar Street project received a zoning change for the corner, but it "was not executed," according to the alderman's website.

Developers are seeking a zoning change for the mixed-use building, according to the 46th Ward website.

The 46th Ward Zoning and Development Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Weiss Memorial Hospital, 4646 N. Marine Drive.
