Christopher Johnson Jr. Dies 2 Days After Austin Shooting, Officials Say

CHICAGO — Christopher Johnson Jr., 18, has died two days after being shot in Austin, officials said.

At 5:04 p.m. Saturday, the man was in the 400 block of South Central Avenue when a dark-colored car pulled up and someone inside fired shots at him, police said.

The man was hit twice in his abdomen and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.

Johnson, of the 7300 block of South Michigan Avenue, was pronounced dead at 1:35 p.m. Monday, according to Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records.

No one was in custody.
