NORTH CENTER — Swap a pair of new, warm socks for free cocktails, beer and snacks at Monday's "Warm Toes/Warm Hearts" event.

Socks are the price of admission to Blue Sky Bakery's benefit for The Woolgathering Project, which collects socks to share with the city's homeless.

The "sock-tail" party, set for 6-9 p.m. at the bakery, 3720 N. Lincoln Ave., coincides with Martin Luther King Day, perfect timing to "gather with friends and neighbors and celebrate our community," according to a note from Blue Sky, which ended with a quote from King:

"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'"
