Shootings Kill 1 Person, Wound 11 Since Wednesday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings have killed one person and wounded 11 others, including a 13-year-old boy, since Wednesday, police said.

• At 6:11 p.m. Wednesday, an 18-year-old man was shot dead in Brighton Park. Four others were wounded in the attack.

In non-fatal shootings:

• At 11:34 p.m. Wednesday, a 20-year-old man was shot in Gage Park, police said. The man was in the backseat of a car parked in the 2800 block of West 59th Street when someone walked up and fired shots.

The man was hit in his groin and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 11:24 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in Ukrainian Village.

• At 4:15 p.m., a 21-year-old man and 16-year-old boy were shot in Englewood, police said. The two were in a car in the 5700 block of South Racine when another car drove up and someone inside fired shots at the victims.

The man was hit in his left shoulder and back and was taken to Stroger Hospital. The boy was hit in a finger on his left hand and was taken to St. Bernard Hospital. Their conditions were not available but they were listed as "stable," police said.

The man and boy were documented gang members, a police source said. 

• At 3:18 p.m., a 13-year-old boy was shot in North Lawndale, police said. The boy was standing in the 3500 block of West 16th Street when a car drove up and someone inside fired shots at the boy.

The boy was hit in his back and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.

The boy was a documented gang member, a police source said.

• At 1:59 p.m., a 28-year-old man was wounded by a shooting in Back of the Yards, police said. The man was driving in the 5200 block of South Paulina Street when someone outside the car fired shots at the man.

The man's forearm was grazed by a bullet, police said. He refused medical attention and was in good condition.

• At 9:34 a.m., two men were shot in Austin, police said. The men were in the 1300 block of North Lockwood when one, 26, was shot in his right forearm and the other, 29, had his right hip grazed by a bullet.

The men were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where their conditions were not available but they were listed as "stable," police said.

No further information was immediately available.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
