Stolen Car Crashes Into CTA Bus After Police Chase, Officials Say

CHICAGO — Robbers crashed a stolen car into a bus during a police chase after a holdup in Bronzeville early Wednesday, police said.

About 8 a.m., a group robbed someone in the 4000 block of South Langley before driving off in a stolen car, police said. The car crashed into a CTA bus in the 4300 block of South La Salle Street in the access road along the Dan Ryan Expy.

The robbers tried to run away, but police said they took them into custody and found a gun and other items taken in the holdup.

The CTA driver and three passengers were hurt, police said. Two 58-year-old women were taken to Mercy Hospital and a 59-year-old woman and 62-year-old woman were taken to St. Bernard Hospital. Their conditions were not available, but they were listed as "stable," police said.

Charges were pending.
