LINCOLN SQUARE — No neighborhood outside of Downtown gets decked for the holidays quite like Lincoln Square.

Preparations have been underway for weeks, with crews sprucing up planters and hanging garland, ribbons and lights in anticipation of festivities set for Saturday, culminating in a tree lighting ceremony in Giddings Plaza.

Here's the schedule of Saturday's free events:

• Ice Sculpture Spectacular, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Look for the icy artwork on Damen Avenue between Argyle and Leland, and on Montrose Avenue between Ravenswood and Damen.

• Victorian Caroling, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Carolers will be strolling Damen, Lincoln and Montrose avenues, with half-hour performances at the top of each hour.

• Tree Lighting, 5:30 p.m., Giddings Plaza, 4733 N. Lincoln Ave. Ebenezer Scrooge and Tiny Tim will be on hand from the Goodman Theatre's production of "A Christmas Carol." DANK Haus will be serving hot chocolate and glühwein.
