Marquette Park Shooting Kills Richard Porter, 27, Authorities Say

CHICAGO — A shooting in Marquette Park killed a 27-year-old man on Wednesday night, police said.

At 9:40 p.m., officers responding to a call of a person shot in the 7300 block of South Maplewood Avenue found the man lying face-down on the sidewalk, police said. He had been shot in his head.

The man has been identified as Richard Porter, of the 7100 block of South Rockwell, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Police originally said the man was 24 years old.

No one was in custody.
